Work-Life-Balance. Is it possible?

Learn how to increase your ability to focus, why balance is essential for the brain and how to go through your week with more ease.

Some say work-life balance is a myth. Some say it’s crucial in todays world.

You probably heard both sides. Who's right?

For driven and ambitious entrepreneurs this is more difficult to answer, then maybe for someone with a regular working schedule. Especially when you love your work, the lines between work and private life can become blurred.

Have you ever experienced this?

While serving clients and the constant acquisition of more ideal clients, you have calls to make, e-mails to write, the next projects in line, a launch coming up and so on.

With all these things on your entrepreneurial plate, it can feel like another obligation to spend your precious focus on balancing your work and life areas.

How to make it easy

First things first. Let go of the pressure that work and private life needs to be crystal clear separated. Work-life-balance doesn’t require a strict separation between your private time and working time.

Instead see it as diversity in your calendar, that gives you more joy, ease and energy to go through your week.

When creating the ideal schedule and structures for my clients, we'll start by looking at six key areas and find out how much time needs to be dedicated towards each of them.

Six areas that you MUST make time for in your calendar for a balanced and happy life:
  1. Work
  2. Health
  3. Wellbeing
  4. Relationships
  5. Adventure & Fun
  6. Knowledge & Learning

Do you want to feel more calm, satisfied, fulfilled and productive?

Then make sure that you'll make time for these 6 areas every week.

How much time you spend in every area is based on your current priorities. There's no cookie cutter approach to this. You have to define for yourself how much time in each area is enough. But leaving areas out completely, will guarantee problems over the long term.

Take an honest look at your calendar. Identify which areas above are falling too short in your life right now and need more attention in your weekly schedule.

Start with 10 minutes!

Creating more balance can be as easy as spending 10 minutes:

  • for a daily workout
  • with your kids before leaving the house in the morning to joke around
  • enjoying your coffee slowly in silence
  • journaling or meditating
  • reading about a topic you want to become better at

You'll feel the difference in your productivity

By integrating these short amounts of time in your weekly schedule you’ll notice a huge shift in your productivity. That’s because your brain loves diversity of tasks. The more diverse the tasks, the better your brain will remain being focused throughout the day.
